This course offers instruction to anyone interested in pursuing a career in the Security profession. Classes are instructed by Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance Licensed Instructors as well as Police Academy Instructors. This course will offer Unarmed/ Armed certification, as well as Impact Weapon and Defensive Chemical Spray certification. Officers needing re-certified for P.P.S. relicensing can also attend the portions in which they desire recertification. Below is the tentative syllabus for the classMonday - 0800-1000 Officer Survival 1000-1200 Basic Unarmed Instruction 1200-1300 Lunch 1300-1500 Basic Unarmed Instruction 1500-1700 Basic Handcuffing Tuesday- 0800-1200 Impact Weapon Certification {expandable baton} 1200-1300 Lunch 1300-1700 Impact Weapon Certification {side handle baton PR-24} Wed. - 0800-1200 Defensive Chemical Spray Certification 1200-1300 Lunch 1300-1700 Overview of Terrorism in the U.S. Thurs. - 0800-1200 Basic Armed Training 1200-1300 Lunch 1300-1700 Use of Force - Laws, Force Continuum Friday 0800-1200 Malfunction Drills for the Semi Auto User 1200-1300 Lunch (possibly provided by BWI, if she will cook that day) 1300-???? Range Student will need 150 rounds for semi-auto or 100 for revolver. You may choose what you come to and it will be priced accordingly.
